Furniture & Furnishings Regulation Act

It is against the law to supply any furniture which does not comply with the Furniture and Furnishings Regulations Act; including supplying furniture in a let residential property.

The British kite label clearly stating compliance must be attached to all items of furniture. This includes sofas, beds, bed headboards, garden furniture suitable for use indoors, children’s furniture, cushions, pillows, furniture covers and similar items.

If the British kite label has been removed, the item must be removed from the property.

Any item that does not comply must not be kept or stored at the property, and cannot be sold to the tenant.
